This Privacy Policy explains how foc ("we", "us", or "the app") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile dating application. By creating an account and using foc, you agree to the practices described below.

foc is intended only for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our dating service, we collect the following:

• Account information: the details you provide when registering, such as your name, email address, date of birth/age, and gender.
• Sensitive information (optional): information you may voluntarily choose to add to your profile, such as your sexual orientation. Providing this is entirely optional, and it is used only to operate the dating features of the app.
• Profile content: photos you upload and any profile information you choose to share.
• Voice recordings: short audio clips you record so that, after matching and with explicit consent, another user may listen to a brief voice preview.
• Location data: when you grant permission, we access your device location to show you people nearby. Your location is then reduced to a city-level area and used for the optional "Check-in" feature, which shares your location only with your existing matches. Location is never shared publicly or without your action.
• Messages and interactions: the messages, likes, matches, and votes you create within the app.
• Identifiers and device data: your account identifier, device identifiers, and push notification token, used to operate your account and deliver notifications.
• Usage and diagnostic data: information about how you interact with the app, and crash/diagnostic data used to keep the app stable and to improve it.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and profile.
• To enable core features: matching, chatting, Check-in location sharing, voice previews, and weekly rankings.
• To send you notifications about likes, matches, messages, and requests.
• To keep the community safe, including reviewing reports and enforcing our rules.
• To analyze app performance, fix crashes, and improve the service.

3. Consent-Based Sharing With Other Users

Some features share information with other users, always under your control:

• Check-in: your location is shared only with your existing matches, only when you actively enable it, and never with strangers or the public.
• Voice preview: your recorded voice can be heard by another user only after you have matched and only with the recipient's approval.
• Your profile, photos, and any optional details you add are visible to other users as part of the normal dating experience.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party providers to operate the app. In particular, we use Google Firebase services (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Realtime Database, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, and crash/diagnostics tools) to store data, authenticate users, deliver notifications, and monitor stability. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy. We do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, photos, voice recordings, matches, messages, likes, and related data from our systems. Some information may be retained for a limited period where required by law or to prevent abuse.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct or update your information through your profile.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent for optional features (such as location sharing or optional profile details) at any time.

7. Safety and Moderation

foc provides tools to report and block other users. We review reports and may suspend or remove accounts that violate our rules in order to protect our community.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Children's Privacy

foc is restricted to users 18 years of age or older. If we learn that we have collected data from a person under 18, we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
